MEAC invites public comment on proposed standard revisions. Community input strengthens our standards and ensures they reflect the needs of students, educators, and the families midwives serve.

2025 Standards for Accreditation Revisions

MEAC is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of midwifery education across the United States. Our standards are continuously reviewed through a rigorous, collaborative process involving educators, practitioners, students, and healthcare experts — ensuring they remain relevant, comprehensive, and aligned with national healthcare goals.

Regular updates ensure midwifery programs provide the most current knowledge and skills required for safe, evidence-based care — safeguarding quality and helping midwives stay ahead of emerging practices.
